Engagement Session: Evan & Whitney | Central Park, NY | Analisa Joy Photography | San Diego, CA Photographer

New York City is one of my all time favorite cities. I love the lights, the fashion, the restaurants, and the chaos… oh and the pizza (you can’t forget the pizza)! Every time I visited New York, I would think of how amazing it would be to photograph a couple in Central Park. When I booked Evan and Whitney’s wedding, she told me it was her dream to have her engagement session in New York City. We didn’t think it was realistic, but we managed to find dates that work and both our photo dreams came to life!

These high school sweethearts used to attend different colleges, but they hated the distance so Evan moved out to Virginia to attend school with Whitney. When their session date came around, they hopped in their car at 5am and headed toward the city. Their road trip was eight hours long, but somehow they both managed to look amazing. We shot in Central Park and the entire day was seriously a photo dream come true. You can’t beat the scenery that Central Park has to offer. It was really cold, the kind where you cringe when you bend your fingers, but these two never complained. Whitney even put on a dress toward the end while others around us were wearing parkas. That’s what I call dedication! My motto in life is, “for the photo” and it’s when you do something for a great picture that you would not normally do. I’m glad Whitney believes in the same logic. I’m trying to influence all my clients to adopt the same motto for their upcoming sessions ;). I loved spending time with this sweet couple, but it made me sad that they live so far away because I want more excuses to hang out with them. I am so excited to see them next summer for their wedding day. I’m counting down the days! Congrats Evan and Whitney!
